Resumen de Influencia de la variación de espesor en cuñas de acreción: Modelización analógica

R. Soto Marín, F. Storti, Claudio Faccenna, Antonio María Casas Sáinz

  • Scaled analogue sandbox models are used to simulate the growth of doubly-vergent thrust wedges that include lateral thickness variations. Initial variations in thickness, due to variable tapers of 0g, 2B, 4g y 6B are perpendicular to the direction of shortening. The angle between the deformation front of thrust belts with respect to the backstop (perpendicular to the shortening direction) increases as a linear function of the initial lateral sedimentary taper. The number of foreland-vergent thrusts and their spacing decreases with increased initial thickness. Lateral variations in the sedimentary thickness cause transfer zones, plan-view curved and oblique thrusts
