  • Resumen
    • We have studied alkaline waters from two geothermal systems of the central Pyrenees: Tredos (Maladeta Plutonic Complex) and Les (Bossost metamorphic dome). Their composition is typicalof waters witha deep flow through a granitic host, being equivalent in their physical-chemical features to many other alkaline thermal springs of the Pyrenees (e.g. Caldas de Bof, Artiés and Luchon), except for the total of dissolved solids (TDS), which is lower in the studied systems. This lower TDS value, together with the deduced disequilibrium of these waters in the reservoir with respect to albite, suggests that Tredos and Les geothermal systems are less evolved geochemically than the other systems. The temperatures in the reservoir, obtained by geothermometric modelling, are of 90aC for the Tredos system, and 72QC for the Les system. Interpolated pH values for these waters in deep conditions are of 8.8 in Tredos and 9 .1 in Les. These temperature values must be considered as approximative, as the disequilibrium with albite and the high pH values in the reservoir affectthe accuracy of the geothermometric calculations.
