Este capítulo se centra en el análisis de dos series de colgaduras bordadas conservadas en el Monasterio de las Huelgas de Burgos. Ambas series, muy similares técnicamente, contribuyeron de modo especial al ornato de diferentes espacios del cenobio, si bien presentan algunas diferencias iconográficas entre sí. La serie roja representa emperadores romanos y la verde signos del zodiaco, estaciones y quizás al propio Carlos V.
This chapter focuses on the analysis of two series - red and green - of embroidered hangings preserved in the Las Huelgas Abbey of Burgos. Both series are technically very similar, however they do possess some iconographic differences. The hangings contributed significantly to the decoration of various areas within the nunnery. The red series represents various Roman emperors, and the green one; the signs of the zodiac, seasons of the year and perhaps Carlos V, the emperor himself
