    Este artículo pretende presentar algunas disfunciones y paradojas que se producen en relación con la sucesión temporal de las leyes en el Derecho bizantino. El traslado del centro de gravedad del Derecho de la persona del emperador (Justiniano) a la de Dios en el Imperio bizantino medio implicó algunas distorsiones en la aplicación de la regla lex posterior derogat legi priori, en la medida en que el Derecho pasó a considerarse como un atributo de la Divinidad y, por tanto, ajeno a la dimensión temporal de los asuntos humanos.

    This article is aimed to feature some disfunctions and paradoxes that take place as concerns the temporal succession of legal rules in Byzantine law. The transfer of gravitational centre of law from the emperor (Justinian) to God in the Middle Byzantine empire leaded to some distortions in the implementation of the rule lex posterior derogat legi priori, as far as law turned to be considered as an attribute of the divinity, and therefore something unconnected with the temporal dimension of the human realm
