    El objetivo fundamental del presente trabajo ha consistido en abordar los distintos sectores económicos prevalecientes en el territorio de la Oretania septentrional en época romana. Así pues, se tiene en cuenta en primer lugar el sector agrario, así como también la muy rentable producción minera en torno al importante distrito de Sisapo. Igualmente se presta atención a las actividades comerciales y a la circulación monetaria, que se verían favorecidas a través de la propia estructura viaria existente en este territorio que, debido a su posición, actuaría como zona puente entre la Bética y la Tarraconense.

    The basic objetive of this paper consists of approaching the different economic sectors prevail-ing in the territory of northern Oretania in the Roman era. Thus, it takes into account in the first place, the agrarian sector, as well as the very profitable mining production around the important district of Sisapo. Attention is also paid to the commercial activities and to the monetary circulation, which would be favoured through the road structure existing in this territory that, due to its position, would act as a bridge between the Bética and the Tarraconense .
