Resumen de Introducción: municipalismo internacional y derecho a la ciudad (contradicciones y desafíos)

  Este artículo presenta y contextualiza el número 123 de Revista CIDOB d’Afers Internacionals sobre «Municipalismo internacional y derecho a la ciudad: las ciudades en la era de la globalización». A tal efecto, esboza la trayectoria del derecho a la ciudad, desde las calles hacia el mundo institucional. Si bien se ha escrito extensamente sobre lo primero, la incorporación de esta narrativa al municipalismo internacional permanece aún poco explorada en la literatura académica. Aquí radica precisamente el valor añadido del análisis que contiene este monográfico, cuyos resultados se muestran en los siete artículos que conforman el volumen. Los temas desarrollados, más que presentar respuestas a los interrogantes formulados, abren nuevas cuestiones y apuntan hacia una nueva agenda de investigación y discusión sobre las contradicciones y desafíos del derecho a la ciudad, con todo lo que ello conlleva

  This paper presents and contextualises issue 123 of Revista CIDOB d’Afers Internationals on “International municipalism and the right to the city: cities in the age of globalisation”. To do this, it outlines the trajectory of the right to the city, from the streets to the institutional world. While the right to the city has been written about extensively, its incorporation into international municipalism remains little explored in academic literature. This is the added value of the analysis contained in this monograph, the results of which are set out in its seven articles. More than answering established questions, the topics expanded upon here raise new questions and propose a new agenda for research and discussion on the contradictions and challenges of the right to the city, with all that it entails.
