Los soportes museográficos: equilibrio entre estética y conservación

    Una de las primeras cuestiones que se plantean los profesionales de la museografía al organizar espacialmente una exposición, es la adecuada distribución de los objetos en la sala para conseguir un espacio agradable y cómodo al visitante, a la vez que les preocupa la conservación preventiva de los objetos expuestos. En resumen, se cuestionan tanto el impacto visual de su distribución, dentro del guion expositivo planteado museológicamente (su estética), como las soluciones prácticas que deben ofrecer para garantizar la seguridad de las piezas (su conservación). Esta relación de los objetos con el espacio, de la que se ocupa la expografía, se desarrolla a través de los soportes museográficos principalmente. En este artículo reflexionaremos cómo a lo largo de la historia de la museografía, el diseño de los dispositivos o soportes es fundamental para favorecer tanto la contemplación de los contenidos como para conseguir esa funcionalidad que asegure la seguridad de los objetos.

    One of the first questions raised by the professionals of the museography when organizaing an exhibition spatially, is the proper distribution of the objects in the room in order to obtain a pleasant and comfortable space for the visitor, while at the same time, they are concerned about the preventive conservation of exposed objects. In short, they think both the visual impact of its distribution are questioned, within the expository script raised museologically (its aesthetics) and the practical solutions that must be offered to guarantee the safety of the pieces (their conservation). This relationship of the objects with the space, of which the expography deals with, is develops mainly through the museographic supports. In this article we will reflect how throughout the history of museography, the design of devices or supports is fundamental to favor both the contemplation of content and to achieve that functionality that ensures the safety of objects.
