El tiempo, entre otros factores, ha ido puliendo las fronteras de las disciplinas para que estas no se rocen entre sí, creando mundos lejanos que no reflejan ya la realidad. Sin embargo, aún hay lugares comunes transitables por las artes y las ciencias, y es necesario volver a construir sobre ellos, hacer que vuelvan a dialogar. Este ensayo pretende repensar el papel del intelectual, ejemplificándolo a través de la figura de Julio Cortázar, para ofrecer una nueva dimensión sobre él: un intelectual ya no individual y elitista, sino colectivo y divulgativo. Esto desembocará en las conclusiones, que pretenderán dar cuenta de la intersección que se da entre la literatura y las ciencias, otorgándole a la literatura no solo la capacidad de actuar como divulgadora científica, sino también la responsabilidad de hacer durar el intento de un cambio de paradigma en el que ambas disciplinas no tengan dos pulsos distintos.

Time –among other components– has refined the boundaries of the disciplines for them not to touch each other, creating distant realms that don’t mirror reality anymore. Nevertheless, there still be common places suitable for arts and sciences and it is necessary to rebuild on them, and to make them discuss again. This essay intends to reconsider the role of the intellectual, exemplifying it through the figure of Julio Cortázar, to offer a new dimension of it: a non-individual and elitist intellectual, but divulgative and collective. This will give rise to the conclusions that will claim to give an account of the intersection present between literature and science, bestowing upon literature not only the ability of acting as a scientific disseminator, but also the responsibility of establishing a change o paradigm in which both disciplines keep the same pace.
