En este texto se recogen diferentes noticias a propósito del arquilla de las elecciones, una muestra mueble de los ritos electorales de los conventos del siglo XVI. En el contexto de la reforma teresiana, este diminutivo del arca se complementa en sus funciones con otros objetos cargados de significados: Las cédulas de votos que designan a la priora del convento, las llaves que ella custodia, y otros objetos que materializan la clausura temporal yespiritual de las monjas en un edificio y una jerarquía acreditada a base de imágenes de culto. Se trata de entender bajo estas metáforas visuales una función práctica del mueble, también ritual y representativa de un sistema de poder, teniendo en cuenta la eficacia ideológica de los prototipos iconográficos en las celebraciones conventuales y sus utilidades políticas. In this test, it has been collect some different notices concerning the “arquilla de las elecciones”, which is a furniture sample of the electoral rituals from the XVI century convents. In the light of the Teresian reform, this diminutive of the ark, complements its functions along other objects full of meanings: the votes, which designate the priora of the convent, or the keys under her custody, these are objects that materialize the temporal and spiritual nuns closing inside of a build and an ecclesiastic hierarchy accredited by cult images. Therefore, under this visual metaphors, it has to be understood the practical as well as ritual function of the furniture, and its representation of a power system, taking into account the ideological efficiency of the iconolographic prototypes in the conventual celebrations and its political usefulness.
