Las personas con discapacidad intelectual presentan un alarmante número de problemas de salud mental. Sin embargo, la atención a estos problemas es reciente y aún queda un largo camino por recorrer, si bien, el cada vez mayor reconocimiento de sus derechos hace que el camino esté iniciado, pues, como todos, tienen derecho a una adecuada atención a su salud mental

The persons with an intellectual handicap present an alarming number of problems as regards mental health. However, the attention given to these problems is recent and although there is still a long way to go, their rights are now given more recognition and this signifies that we are on our way towards adequate attention to their mental health.
