Perfil psicológico pre y post operatorio de pacientes sometidos a cirugíaortognática

    La cirugía ortognática ne cambia sólo los rasgos de la cara y las funciones ora les sino que produce también importantes efectos sobre el bienestar psi cosoc ial de los pac ientes en los que la deformidad dentofac ia l había a / Lerado la imagen corporal. La respuesta psicológica de pac iente a las ma lforma c iones y a los resultados de su correcc ión quirúrgica debe verificarse mediante un buen grado de comunicac ión paciente/operador.

    Los autores presentan los resu ltados del perfil psico lógico pre y postoperator io realizado en 1 2 pacien tes, mediante entrev istas semiest ructuradas y test de Rorschach. En la entrev ista preoperatoria el 100% de los pac ientes dec laró motivac iones internas: 60% estéticas, 40 % funcionales. El 60% de las motivac io nes estéticas se correlac iona positivamente con el 60% que dec laró esperar beneficios en las relac iones interpersonales.

    Orthognatic S'.J rgery not only changes the features and oral function but causes, as well, great effects on the psico-socia l wellbeing of the patients in which the dento fac ial deformity has altered the body image.The psychologica l response of the patient to the desease a nd to the results of its surgica l correction must be controlled through a good degree of comu nication between the patient and the clinician.The authors present here the results of the psycho logica l profile of 12 patients befare and after the operation fol/ owed with sem istructurated interview a nd Rorschach test.During the preoperatory interview, 1 OO'Yo of the patients have declared interna! motivations: 60% esthetical , 40% functional .
