Resumen de Caminos de memoria, sendas de progreso: propuesta para la creación de un itinerario cultural en la zona centro del Estado de Veracruz, México

Este artículo se enfoca en la concepción de un itinerario cultural basado en el patrimonio material y los atractivos naturales de la región centro del estado de Veracruz (México). Tomando como referente la actual situación económica y productiva del estado y su vocación turística, y teniendo como eje temático el conjunto de fortifi caciones y edifi cios militares construidos entre los siglos XVI y XIX, que permanecen en las antiguas rutas del Camino Real/Nacional México-Veracruz, la investigación pretende sentar las bases para la creación de empresas comunitarias y proyectos productivos orientados al turismo cultural y alternativo, que contribuyan al progreso social y económico de los habitantes de las comunidades aledañas al recorrido, así como a generar los recursos necesarios para la conservación y la protección de los monumentos.

This article focuses on the conception of a cultural itinerary based on the material heritage and natural attractions of the central region of the state of Veracruz (Mexico). Taking as a reference the current economic and productive situation of the state and its vocation for tourism, and having as a thematic axis the set of fortifi cations and military buildings built between the 16th and 19th centuries, that remain on the old routes of the Camino Real/Nacional Mexico-Veracruz, the research aims to lay the foundations for the creation of community enterprises and productive projects oriented towards cultural and alternative tourism, which contribute to the social and economic progress of the inhabitants of the communities surrounding the route, as well as to generate the necessary resources for the conservation and protection of the monuments.
