High-frequency (3.5 kHz) subbottom profiles have been studied in the Rfa de Vigo (NW Spain) for the first time. The study reveal the presence of 9 main classes of echo characters in the recent sedimentary infill of the rfa, which correspond directly to the different sediment type. The echo character mapping and the interpretation are carried out using; in addition, the echosounder data, and the data of recent sediments.
