Valentin Krautwald (1490-1545) was one of the protagonists of radical Reformation in Silesia, well known as Via Media, which had as its reference point the theologian Caspar von Schwenckfeld Ossig. The Italian historiography is unaware of Krautwald; the aim of this article is to introduce his biography, his cultural relations, the theological thought and his literary production, considering critically the main works of the previous historiographical tradition. In the Appendix, I will provide the transcription of the main source used for this essay, the biographical manuscript written by Adam Reissner, Vita beati Valentini Krauwaldi theologi(München SB,CLM 718, ff. 549-552)
