This article is about the process of the dam’s construction Bico da Pedra in Janaúba, and the project of irrigation of Gorutuba (PIG), at the current municipality of Nova Porteirinha, both located in the North of Minas Gerais, with the aim of understanding the formation of a new hegemony in the region through the capitalization of the field. The various documents listed enabled to dialectically comprehend forged memories in the historic movement of conflicts and tensions involving workers, governmental agents and rural entrepreneurs.

Este artigo versa sobre o processo de construção da barragem Bico da Pedra, em Janaúba, e do projeto de irrigação do Gorutuba (PIG), no atual município de Nova Porteirinha, ambos localizados no Norte de Minas Gerais, no objetivo de compreender a constituição de uma nova hegemonia na região por intermédio da capitalização do campo. Os diversos documentos elencados possibilitaram compreender memórias forjados dialeticamente dentro do movimento histórico de embates e tensões envolvendo trabalhadores, agentes governamentais e empresários rurais.
