    The Center for Research, Documentation and Reference on Rural Social Movements and Public Policies is being formed since 1997 oriented for the constitution of a collection dedicated to the memory of agrarian social processes. Through the metodology of stunding the archives, this reflexion aims to identify the uses of Law that permeate the social movements action’s repertoire, and that are explained by documental organization.

    Here, law, as an expression of the correlation of forces established in its production, interpretation and effectiveness, assumes the role of a guiding line for the exercise of peasant social struggles memory. In this way, the use of historical collections by legal research reveals important keys to understanding current investments in the dismantling of legal landmarks once conquered.

    O Núcleo de Pesquisa, Documentação e Referência sobre Movimentos Sociais e Políticas Públicas no Campo vem se constituindo desde 1997 enquanto acervo dedicado à memória dos processos sociais agrários. Esta reflexão, na qual o acervo torna-se campo de pesquisa, busca identificar os usos do Direito que perpassam o repertório de ação dos movimentos sociais do campo, e que são explicitados a partir da organização documental. Aqui, o Direito, enquanto expressão da correlação de forças estabelecidas em sua produção, interpretação e efetivação, assume o papel de fio condutor do exercício de memória das lutas sociais do campo. Deste modo, vemos que o recurso aos acervos históricos pela pesquisa jurídica revela chaves importantes para compreensão das atuais investidas no desmonte de marcos legais outrora conquistados.
