Resumen de Indagando en la definición de piratería marítima y su regulación

En el presente estudio se intenta conocer el fondo de la definición que existe de piratería marítima, analizando los aspectos más relevantes de la misma y las opiniones doctrinales que existen al respecto. Al mismo tiempo se hablará en general de su regulación tanto en la Convención de las Naciones Unidas sobre Derecho del Mar de 1982, como en el Convenio para la represión de los actos ilícitos contra la seguridad de la navegación marítima, haciendo una mención particular a su regulación en el ámbito español, debido a que hace no mucho este Estado ha sufrido este tipo de actividades. A lo largo de la investigación se concluirá con la necesidad básica que consiste en actualizar la definición y normativa referente a la piratería al tratarse de un problema que aún sigue existiendo

The main objective of this research is to try to understand the root of the actual maritime piracy’s definition, this research will analyze the actual most relevant aspects and doctrinal opinions. At the same time it will discuss about it’s regulation in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982 and in the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Maritime, followed by a special mention about the Spanish regulation, because this country have suffered not so long ago this kind of activities. In the course of the investigation it will be concluded that there is a need of an update of the maritime piracy definition and their rules, as the piracy is still a real threat nowadays
