Resumen de Eine mögliche Quelle der antijüdischen Apologetik von Juan Luís Vives: Die Dialogue von Bernardo Pérez de Chinchón
The present paper deals with Gregorjo Mayans's thesis that Juan Luis Vives's anti- Jewish apology in his late work De veritate fidei christianae was primarily influenced by a work of the humanist Bernardo Pérez de Chinchón. According to the findings of the present study, this applies to one aspect only, namely, high esteem for human reason; both, Pérez de Chinchón and Vives, consider reason to be the crucial authority for an interpretation of the Bible.
