    El objetivo de este estudio es caracterizar el proceso de movilidad e indagar en las motivaciones de los migrantes que llegan a habitar las comunas de Pucón y Melipeuco, situadas ambas en la Araucanía Andina en el sur de Chile.

    Mediante el análisis de entrevistas en profundidad realizadas durante 2015 y 2017 se pudo construir categorías de migrantes a partir de sus motivaciones principales. Los resultados dan cuenta de un proceso que está generando cambios en las formas tradicionales de habitar y concebir los espacios rurales.

    The objective of this study is to characterize the mobility process and to investigate the motivations of the migrants who come to inhabit the communes of Pucón and Melipeuco, located both in the Andean Araucanía in the south of Chile. Through the analysis of in-depth interviews conducted during 2015 and 2017, it was possible to build categories of migrants based on their main motivations. The results show a process that is generating changes in the traditional ways of inhabiting and conceiving rural spaces .
