Resumen de Writing in the university classroom. A teaching innovation project.

  • In the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Cadiz, the subject Collaboration of Families in Educational Processes is offered during the first course of the Degree in Infant Education. From its start in the academic course 2010/2011, this subject encounters two great difficulties. Firstly, the bibliography referred to the relationships between the families and the school is scanty and scattered. This problem increases when the aim is to find practical cases which allow for the critical analysis of real educational situations, and the well-founded decision-making process by the students. Secondly, it is the fact that students enter University burdened with considerable difficulties in tasks related to the learning comprehension, organisation and structuring of the information when dealing with the elaboration of original documents and the very process of writing. The purpose of these pages is to show the general outlines of the project Towards University Writing Pedagogy. Production of Materials for the Classroom, which poses the creation of a battery of practical real cases in order to work on the elaboration of academic essays in the university classroom.
