    Nos proponemos en este trabajo refl exionar acerca de los rasgos generales que guían los procesos de cambio detectados en Andalucía. Tomaremos como puntos de partida los resultados obtenidos en los estudios llevados a cabo en los últimos años. Nos apoyamos, esencialmente, en los trabajos realizados por los equipos de investigación PRESEEA en Andalucía.

    Buscamos encontrar los patrones sociales y lingüísticos que han condicionado dos conjuntos de cambios que se conservan vivos en el panorama lingüístico del andaluz: unos que afectan a los sonidos situados en el ataque silábico y que se caracterizan por ser cambios que tienen su origen en las clases altas y, por tanto, cuentan con prestigio abierto; otros que inciden sobre los sonidos que ocupan la coda silábica, que tuvieron su origen en las clases medias y bajas, por tanto, van de abajo a arriba y cuentan con prestigio local. Los primeros tienden a la coinización de los rasgos diferenciadores de las hablas andaluzas y, simultáneamente, a la nivelación con el estándar. Los segundos, en cambio, son particularizadores y conducen a la segmentación del territorio en áreas dialectales diferenciadas. Esta situación de encuentro de tendencias contradictorias nos induce a preguntarnos cuáles son los rasgos identitarios del andaluz.

    With this project, we intend to refl ect on the general features that have led to various processes of linguistic change detected in Andalusia. As a starting point, we will take into account the results obtained in the studies carried out over previous years, especially those undertaken by the research teams of the PRESEAA project in Andalusia. In this study, we intend to determine the social and linguistic patterns that have contributed to the two sets of changes that are still present in Andalusia today. Th e fi rst set relates to the sounds located at the syllabic onset; changes which have their origin in upper classes and therefore imply an open prestige.

    Th e second set consists of sounds located in syllabic coda, which had their origin in the lower and middle classes and that therefore go from down to top and have local prestige. Th e fi rst ones tend to the koineization of the diff erential features of the Andalusian varieties and to homogenize with the standard. Th e second ones, on the other hand, tend to diverge from the standard and have led to a segmentation of the territory in diff erent dialectal areas. Th is panorama of contradictory tendencies leads us to wonder what are the identity features of the Andalusian.
