Iatrogenic and/or pathological malnutrition affects almost one in two cancer patients. The effect of the tumour on the organism as well as the treatments disrupt the metabolism resulting in an increase in energy needs. Malnutrition affects the patient's quality of life and prognosis. The community pharmacist can help patients to adapt their diet according to their condition while respecting the recommended nutrient intakes.

La dénutrition d’origine iatrogène et/ou pathologique touche quasiment un patient cancéreux sur deux. L’incidence de la tumeur sur l’organisme ainsi que les traitements entraînent des perturbations métaboliques qui aboutissent à l’augmentation des besoins énergétiques. La dénutrition diminue la qualité de vie et représente un facteur de mauvais pronostic. Le pharmacien d’officine peut aider le patient à adapter son alimentation en fonction des troubles tout en respectant les apports nutritionnels conseillés.
