  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD or acid reflux) means that acid from the stomach backs up into the throat. Long-term GERD can also bring about reflux esophagitis. Reflux esophagitis is an inflammation of the esophagus mucosa. Treatment relies chiefly on lifestyle et dietary rules.
