  • To discover the relationship which exists between the two Spanish traditions that we know, it is necessary to discover the sources that the Toledo canon Alfonso Ortíz used when preparing the Arabic editions of the missal and of the breviary in the years 1500 and 1502 respectively. In practice, this can only be fulfilled in texts of the festivals of St. Peter and St. Paul as there are manuscripts in both traditions. With this, one is able to discover what methods Ortiz used, and one can see that the services of both traditions depend upon some Toledan Liturgical books, not yet comple- tely structured.
