Resumen de Las refundiciones de El parecido o la comedia moretiana (re)escrita en España al gusto de Europa

En el presente trabajo nos proponemos analizar las reescrituras neoclásicas de un texto moretiano poco estudiado: El parecido (o El parecido en la corte). De él se conservan dos versiones adaptadas a los gustos del siglo XVIII, la primera impresa en el Ensayo sobre el teatro español de Tomás Sebastián y Latre; y la segunda versión, «arreglada por don Pasqual Rodríguez de Arellano», conservada hoy en un manuscrito de la Real Biblioteca. A partir de ambas refundiciones profundizaremos en la conflictiva tensión que existió durante la Ilustración entre el teatro barroco y el teatro neoclásico, de clara influencia europea.

In this paper I intend to analyse the Neoclassical rewriting of a comedia of Agustín Moreto insufficiently studied –El parecido, sometimes titled El parecido en la corte.
We have two theatrical versions arranged to appeal to the taste of the 18th Century readers and spectators –the first version was printed as part of the Ensayo sobre el teatro español by Tomás Sebastián y Latre; the second version, «arranged by Mr.
Pasqual Rodríguez de Arellano», is preserved in a manuscript held at the Real Biblioteca. Considering both adaptations, I will delve into the conflict that existed during the Enlightenment between the Baroque theatre and the Neoclassical theatre, shaped by European models.
