    Este artículo describe la iniciación a la investigación y realización de experimentos científicos en cuarto curso de Educación Primaria, los cuales quedan claramente enmarcados el Currículum de Primaria dentro de las áreas de Ciencias Naturales y Ciencias Sociales. El hecho de tener que investigar y aprender por descubrimiento conlleva beneficios muy diversos, de los que cabe destacar como más inmediatos y claramente visibles, la motivación, despierta la curiosidad por descubrir y muestra el entusiasmo por la satisfacción al comprobar los resultados. Estas experiencias se han puesto práctica a lo largo de un curso escolar. El contexto del centro al que pertenece el alumnado participante es heterogéneo, donde podemos encontrar familias con distintos orígenes socio-culturales.

    Por otro lado, no podemos dejar de lado el hecho de que ningún alumno o alumna de las tres clases en las que se ha llevado a cabo la experiencia, estaban habituados a enfrentarse a la resolución de problemas científicos, lo que ha supuesto un reto a nivel personal para ellos y ellas; sobre todo a la hora de hacer exposiciones orales y verse expuestos ante sus compañeros y compañeras. Es por ello que debo hacer una especial mención a la mejora en la expresión oral del alumnado participante.

    This article describes the initiation to the research and realization of scientific experiments in the fourth year of Primary Education, which are clearly framed the Primary Curriculum within the areas of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. The fact of having to investigate and learn by discovery entails very diverse benefits, of which the motivation is more immediate and clearly visible, arouses curiosity to discover and shows the enthusiasm for satisfaction when checking the results. These experiences have been put into practice throughout a complete school year. The context of the center to which the participating students belong is diverse and heterogeneous, where we can find families with different socio-cultural backgrounds. On the other hand, we cannot ignore the fact that none of the students of the three classes in which the experience was carried out, were used to face the resolution of scientific problems, which has been a challenge to personal level for them; especially when making oral presentations and being exposed to their peers. That is why I must make a special mention to the improvement in the oral expression of the participating students.
