Resumen de Regenerative learning: a process based design approach

The paper addresses the question – How do we design a process that will enable people who do not have access to designeducation to learn embodied knowledge at a time when there is a major shift in the dominant technology in society? In normaltimes, the conventional approach is to enroll in a four-year degree college or a community college, and thereafter go to work inindustry. However, this conventional approach is time-consuming for the students, and impractical for companies, who, faced withthe disruption of innovation often require employees with several years of experience. Thus, a gap between knowing and doing iscreated which does not serve well those who need to learn and earn at the same time. We therefore propose a regenerative learningparadigm for design education. We support this proposal with a case study of SnapIT, a design development firm in the softwareindustry, and present a theory which helps us understand the regenerative learning paradigm and process.
