12 gestos para un cuidado humanizado en el entorno hospitalario

    Las expresiones cotidianas del cuidado inciden en el bienestar del paciente hospitalizado, suponiendo un pilar fundamental para la humanización de los cuidados. Objetivo: Identificar los doce gestos cotidianos que pueden influir más positivamente en el paciente hospitalizado y su entorno, manifestando un cuidado más humanizado por parte del profesional de enfermería. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo, elaborando un cuestionario inicial basado en el consenso entre 11 profesionales del Hospital Universitario de San Rafael en Granada, que posteriormente se distribuyó en centros pertenecientes a la Orden Hospitalaria de San Juan de Dios en la provincia Bética. Resultados: Del consenso inicial surgió un primer listado de 68 gestos humanizantes, que fueron clasificados en 5 categorías. La encuesta final fue cumplimentada por 55 profesionales de donde es extrajeron los doce gestos que fueron priorizados según las puntuaciones obtenidas. Conclusiones: La relación enfermera-paciente se va a ver fortalecida si logramos que la práctica asistencial sea lo más humanizada posible, siendo muy valorados aspectos como la profesionalidad, la calidez, la intimidad, la gestión de la información y el confort; siendo los doce gestos identificados los que tendrán una mayor repercusión positiva en el paciente y sus allegados.

    The daily expressions of care affect the welfare of the hospitalized patient, assuming a fundamental pillar for the humanization of care. Objective: To identify the twelve daily gestures that can influence most positively in the patient and its environment, manifesting a humanized care given by nursing staff. Methodology: a observational descriptive study was carried out, elaborating an initial questionnaire based on the consensus among 11 professionals from the University Hospital of San Rafael in Granada. Later it was distributed in centers belonging to the Hospitaller Order of San Juan de Dios in the Bética province. Results: From the initial consensus emerged a first list of 68 humanizing gestures, which were classified into 5 categories. 51 professionals completed the survey. The twelve gestures that were prioritized according to the scores obtained were extracted. Conclusions: The nurse-patient relationship will be strengthened if we make the practice of care as humanized as possible, being highly valued aspects such as professionalism, communication, intimacy, information management, and comfort. The twelve gestures identified are the ones that will have a greater positive impact on the patient and his relatives.
