Resumen de Joan Cererols: visió d'intèrpret

En aquest article es descriu la meva aproximació a l’obra de Cererols i, de retruc, als repertoris hispànics del segle XVII a partir de la pròpia experiència com a intèrpret: instru mentista en un primer temps, i com a cantant i director després. Intento definir els proble mes que es plantegen a un intèrpret d’avui des del punt de vista dels efectius, la instrumen tació, les tessitures vocals i les diferències entre la música litúrgica i la paralitúrgica, la prima prattica i el món barroc, establint una paral·lelisme, i no una comparació, amb altres autors del món hispànic i europeu de la mateixa època. Hi adjunto una llista d’obres treballades de Cererols amb comentaris sobre les possibilitats interpretatives. En tractarse d’un escrit totalment subjectiu, es fa difícil establir una col·lecció de notes a peu de pàgina. Sí que hi ha, però, al final, una petita bibliografia, no exhaustiva, dels llibres que m’han ajudat a ferme meva la qüestió... i la música.

This paper presents my ideas about the work of Joan Cererols and about the Spanish repertoires of the 17th century on the basis of my own experience as an interpreter: at first as an instrumentalist and later as a singer and conductor. I seek to define the challenges facing a current interpreter from the standpoint of the availability of musicians, instrumentation, vo cal tessiture and the differences between liturgical and paraliturgical music, prima prattica and the Baroque world, drawing a parallel (rather than making a comparison) with other composers of the Spanish and European spheres of the same period. I add a list of works by Cererols that I have dealt with, as well as some comments on their interpretive possibilities. Since this is a completely subjective document, it is hard to set out a series of footnotes. Even so, at the end of this paper I have included a small and by no means exhaustive list of the books which have helped me to come to grips with this subject... and with the music.
