Resumen de Leyes de desigualdad: niñez y juventud a principios del siglo XX

El presente artículo analiza la presencia y representación del menor en las décadas de 1930 a 1950 en Costa Rica. El trabajo es de tipo exploratorio y utiliza como principales fuentes investigativas las leyes, los expedientes del Patronato Nacional de la Infancia y los periódicos de la época. Se deduce que la ley funcionó como un instrumento de poder que desprotegió a la niñez frente a la figura del adulto, en especial aquellos que pertenecían a los sectores empobrecidos.

This article analyzes the presence and representation of the child in the decades from 1930 to 1950 in Costa Rica. The work is exploratory and primarily uses laws from the time, records of the Patronato Nacional De la Infancia (National Child Welfare Agency) and newspapers of the time as investigative sources. It follows that the law functioned as an instrument of power which stripped the children from their rights versus adult figures especially those who belonged to the impoverished sectors.
