  • Resumen
    • Within the initiative "11 de Febrero", the University of Vigo organized a Science Fair in the Ourense campus in which researchers and technologists (women) show their investigations to high school students. The "Ephyslab" research group showed a stand, named "Solving the climate puzzle", which deals about the study of the climate change. The climate change subject was approached from different points of view: 1) meteorological instruments, used both in the past and at present, to measure the climate were explained in a visual and manipulative way; 2) the effect of global warming on sea level rise was showed; 3) students learned how to make a cloud and the physical principle that lies behind it using simple materials; and finally, 4) the phenomenon of El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) was simulated in a simple and illustrative way telling the students its consequences both on the local and global weather.
