    En el presente artículo se reflexiona sobre el pasado, el presente y el futuro de las cuencas hidrográficas de los ríos Otún y Consota, en la eco región cafetera. Se consideran algunas estrategias dirigidas a la construcción social, integral e inteligente para el crecimiento local y regional mediante ejemplos de acciones institucionales en el ámbito público-privado, unidas a experiencias ciudadanas asociativas que generan conocimiento mediante procesos de investigación participativa. Se sostiene que la confluencia de disciplinas, sectores sociales e instituciones puede fundamentar ejercicios de prospectiva sobre el territorio que permitan mantener, recuperar, mejorar y fortalecer las condiciones de vida en las riberas de los afluentes más importantes de la ciudad.

    In the present article one thinks about the past, the present and the future of the hydrographic basins of the rivers Otún and Consota, in the eco coffee region. They are considered to be some strategies directed the social, integral and intelligent construction for the local and regional growth by means of examples of institutional actions in the public-private area, joined civil associative experiences that generate knowledge by means of processes of participative investigation. Is held that the confluence of disciplines, social sectors and institutions can base exercises of futurology on the territory that they allow to support, to recover, to improve and to strengthen the living conditions in the banks of the most important tributaries of the city.
