Relação entre o IAF e eventos de El Nino e La Nina na microrregião de Mossoró, RN

    Este trabalho teve como objetivo fazer uma avaliação detalhada do IAF em parte da região Oeste Potiguar nos anos de 1994 a 2009, obtidos pelo sensor Landsat 5 e relacioná-los com os fenômenos de El Nino e La nina. Utilizou-se 6 imagens do Mapeador Temático do satélite LANDSAT-5 processadas pelo ERDAS IMAGINE em uma séria tri anual de 1994 a 2009, em seguida relacionou-se com os eventos de El nino e La nina ocorridos na região nesse período. A área de estudo esta situada na Microrregião de Mossoró pertencente a Mesorregião Oeste do Rio Grande do Norte. Os resultados mostraram que o ano 1994 apresentou a maior média do índice de área foliar dentre os estudados e que esse valor caiu até o ano de 2006, sendo 2003 o período de menor IAF da série e presença de El nino moderado. No ano de 2009 teve-se um crescimento no IAF, período em que houve a ocorrência de La nina forte.

    This study aimed to make a detailed of the IAF in part of the western of Potiguar in the years 1994 to 2009, obtained by the sensor Landsat 5 and relate and relate them to the phenomena of El Nino and La Nina. We used the 6 images of Thematic Mapper of satellite Landsat-5 processed by ERDAS IMAGINE in a serious tri annual from 1994 to 2009,then was related to the events of El Nino and La Nina occurred in the region during this period. The study area is situated in Microregion Mossoró belonging to Mesoregion west of Rio Grande do Norte.

    The results showed that the year 1994 had the highest average leaf area index among those studied and that this value fell by the year 2006, and 2003, the period of lowest LAI series and the presence of moderate El nino. In 2009 had to grow in the IAF, during which there was the occurrence of La Nina strength.
