Turismo y armchair tourism. Una reflexión sobre la naturaleza del turismo

    Es en el peregrinaje donde resulta más evidente observar la naturaleza dual del viaje: un movimiento exterior e interior al mismo tiempo. Partiendo de esta noción, el objetivo de este texto es plantear un estudio teórico que explora las similitudes entre la experiencia de un turista (aquí, peregrino) que se desplaza y alguien que sigue el camino desde casa (armchair pilgrim). Hecha esta consideración, se cuestiona si es posible plantearse que aquello central en la noción de viaje no es solamente el desplazamiento geográfico. Para esto se utiliza como caso de estudio el álbum Finisterra de Mägo de Oz (2000), en el que se narra un peregrinaje siguiendo el Camino de Santiago (España). Metodológicamente, se seguirá el formato de análisis propuesto por Cuesta y Gómez (2013), que relaciona las letras de las canciones con el pensamiento narrativo de Bruner (1988). Comparando el resultado de este análisis con los resultados de estudios de experiencia de caminantes reales, veremos que es efectivamente posible obtener una vivencia interior comparable sin salir de casa. Aun así, el estudio presenta limitaciones, la más importante es el referirse solamente a la experiencia como crecimiento personal

    It is in the pilgrimage that it is more obvious to observe the dual nature of the trip: an exterior and interior movement at the same time. Starting from this notion, the objective of this text is to propose a theoretical study that explores the similarities between the experience of a tourist (here, a pilgrim) who travels and someone who follows the path from home (pilgrim armchair). Having made this consideration, it is questioned whether it is possible to state what is central in the notion of travel is not just geographical displacement. For this, the album Finisterra of Mägo de Oz (2000) is used as a case study, in which a pilgrimage is narrated following the Camino de Santiago (Spain). Methodo-logically, the analysis format proposed by Cuesta and Gómez (2013), which relates the lyrics of the songs to the narrative thinking of Bruner (1988), was converted. By comparing the result of this analysis with the results of experience studies of real walkers, we will see that it is indeed possible to obtain a comparable interior experience without leaving home. Even so, the study has limitations, the most important is to refer only to experience as personal growth.
