  • This paper deals with the first results of an archaeological fieldwork carried out in the estuaries of the province of Bizkaia. Such estuaries have been used and transformed since ancient times. However, little is found beyond medieval times; many of the features located are fromthe last 100 years or slightly more. In fact, many are results of the use of the riparian zone from the beginning of the XX century. Nevertheless, they are the results of the use of such area which should be recorded to understand better what they represent. Jetties, docks, dykes and wrecks are just some of the features found.
