  • The potholes of the Tamuja River are studied as an example of erosive forms developed on the bed of metamorphic rocks, in this case slates corresponding to the Domo Extremeño Alogroup of the province of Cáceres. These potholes have different evolution states, from centrimetric and decimetric size to rarely above the meter. The reactivation and embedding of the fluvial network of the Tajo River in the Quaternary have made possible the formation of potholes on the shale bed of the Tamuja river
