María C. Fernández Puga, Luis M. Fernández Salas, Víctor Díaz del Río Español, J.L. Sanz, M. Sayazo, Desirée Palomino

  • The recent configuration of the tarraconian shelf is strongly influenced by numerous delta depositional systems. The study area is located off Torredembarra. Numerous morphologies have been identified by means of multibeam bathymetry mosaic and very high resolution seismic reflection profiles. The main morphologies observed along the are bars and undulations with a orientation SE-NW. The bars are related to ancient coastline and to erosional processes. The undulations are sedimentary morphologies development above relict relieves related to bars or transgressive bodies. At present, all these shallow bedforms are modelled and supported by the local currents towards SW.
