In his edition of John Lydus’s On the Months, Richard Wünsch did not use the testimony of Anastasius Sinaites and John Sardianus, the fi rst authors to quote (anonymously) passages from chapters 2.2, 2.6, 2.9, 3.4, 3.11, and 3.12 of that work. This article aims to present a new text for parts of the aforementioned chapters. It draws on Anastasius and Sardianus as new witnesses and re-evaluates the text of the manuscripts already known to Wünsch. We will have a close look at three of these, namely H (Berol. Ham. 555), Mut (Mut. gr. α.P.7.17), and P (Par. gr. 1630), and discuss the peculiar characteristics of the text of On the Months preserved therein.
