Es un ateneo con aires de café y aromas de bacalao al pil pil y pretende actualizar el viejo modelo de los ateneos liberarios de principios de siglo. Se postula como el único medio de frenar el arrollador avance de Internet. Frente a la fia sociedad internauta, atomizada un lugar de encuentro cálido, una sociedad de amistad y tertulia, centro de discusión y estudio, la babel bilbaina, un gimnasio de aerobic espiritual, una biblioteca, la Atenas del Nervión librepensador.

This is an athenaeum with the aroma of coffee and the smell of cod “al pil pil” and it attempts to bring up to date the old model of the libertarian athenaeums of the beginning of the century. It is postulated as the only means of putting a brake on the overwhelming advance of the Internet. Facing the cold, atomised society of Internet surfing, it is a place for warm encounters, a society of friendship and debate, a centre of discussion and study, the Babel of Bilbao, a gymnasium for spiritual aerobics, a library, the Athens of the freethinking Nervión.

Mende hasierako ateneo libertarioen ildoa du abiapuntutzat, kafea eta pil pilezko makailua tarteko dituela. Ateneoa, interneten zabalkunde erraldoia gelditzeko tresna bakarra da. Internauten gizarte hotsaren aurrean, topagune bero eta hurbilekoa, adiskidantza eta tertulia lantzeko, eztabaidak eta ikerketak burutzeko, Bilboko babela, espirituzko aerobic egiteko, biblioteka eta pentsamentu librearen Nerbioiko Atenas.
