Bilboko San Francisco auzunearen krisialdiak gizartearen eta auzokoen mobilizazioa ekarri du, lana eta elkarguneak bilatzeko eta aztertzeko. 1998ko urtarrilean bertako bost elkartek Txakur Berdea Sarea bultzatu zuten %40 inguruko langabezia jasaten duten hiritarrekin gizarte eta elkarkidetza ekonomikoan oinarritutako lan ekimenak sustatzeko. Lehenengo lana Sarea izan zen (Corazón de María enp. 4): biltzeko zentro erakargarria eta desberdina da eta ordura arte ez zegoen dinamizazio kulturalaren motorea ere bai (nahiz eta eskaera handia ez izan).
The situation of crisis affecting the neighbourhood of San Francisco in Bilbao has led the social and neighbourhood movement to seek and carry out experiments involving labour ambits and meeting spaces. In January 1988, five associations of the zone promoted the creation of Txakur Berdea Sarea, with the aim of encouraging labour initiatives based on a social economy of solidarity amongst the population, which is affected by 40% unemployment. The first step was Sarea (Plaza Corazón de María 4), an attractive and different meeting place, the driving force behind a much-needed (although not requested) cultural dynamic that had been non-existent up until then.
