  • Resumen
    • In this paper, we seek to document the state of art of the 3D semantic-rich modelling of underground utilities. To address this challenge, we develop a review of most common platforms used for 3D data modelling, mostly based on GIS or XML. We plan to detail what each platform is capable of: the information they can provide and their potential of displaying 3D models and information associated in portable devices for maintenance or any other field of work. Next, we carry out a case study where both capabilities and limitations of these kind of systems are described. In order to overcome limitations, we remark the relevance of automation and programming techniques as an auxiliary resource.
