Resumen de Archivos y derechos humanos en Uruguay: Estado de la cuestión

  Los llamados archivos de derechos humanos presentan un rol preponderante en cuestiones vinculadas a los Estados que han transitado períodos de acción ilegítima y terrorismo. Las entidades archivísticas se transforman en instrumentos imprescindibles para la búsqueda de la verdad y la justicia, garantizan la no repetición de hechos atentatorios contra la dignidad humana, así como la construcción de la memoria histórica de las naciones. Este trabajo presenta una breve conceptualización de los denominados archivos de derechos humanos y su caracterización para el Uruguay. Al mismo tiempo, se aborda la génesis y evolución de la Secretaría de Derechos Humanos para el Pasado Reciente de la Presidencia de la República y las acciones vigentes en materia de intervención archivística externa

  The so - called human rights archives have a preponderant role in issues related to States that have gone through periods of illegitimate action and terrorism. The archival entities are transformed into indispensable instruments for the search of truth and justice, guarantee the non - repetition of acts that threaten human dignity, as well as the construction of the historical memory of nations. This paper presents a brief conceptualization of the so - called human rights archives, and their characterization for Uruguay. At the same time, it addresses the genesis and evolution of the Human Rights Secretariat for the Recent Past of the Presidency of the Republic, and the current actions on external archival intervention
