En la historia reciente de las ideas, dos conceptos atraviesan las más influyentes explicaciones en torno a la modernidad: la ciencia y la técnica.
Ambos fueron descritos y problematizados por Martin Heidegger y heredados, entera o parcialmente, por algunos de sus discípulos. En The Human Condition, Hannah Arendt hace una valoración que en apariencia es distinta a la del filósofo y propone explicaciones en torno al mundo de mediados del siglo XX. De ese vínculo es fácil concluir que en Hannah Arendt hay una huella indeleble de la presencia de su antiguo profesor en su pensamiento maduro;
pero lo cierto es que esa influencia tiene unas connotaciones intelectuales, culturales, temporales e incluso biográficas, que incluyen la presencia determinante de Alexandré Koyré. In contemporary history of ideas, two concepts traverse the most influential explanations about modernity: science and technology. Both were described and problematized by Martin Heidegger and were inherited, entirely or partially, by some of his disciples. In The Human Condition, Hannah Arendt makes an assessment that is seemingly different from that of the philosopher and proposes explanations about the world of the mid-twentieth century. From this connection it follows that in Hannah Arendt there is an indelible trace of the presence of her former teacher even in her mature thought; in fact, this influence has intellectual, cultural, temporal and even biographical connotations that include the determining presence of Alexandre Koyré. Tracing that range of nuances provides an explanation about the origin and permanence of these ideas, as well as their appropriation, expiration and mental determination of specific times.
