Resumen de “Da Grécia veio esta história...”: Leituras do feminino em Apuleio (Roma, século II d.C.)

  A narrativa de Apuleio, mais especificamente sua obra “O Asno de Ouro”, mostra-se um campo possível para discutir e problematizar as expressões e representações do feminino e seus comportamentos da e na sociedade romana do segundo século depois de Cristo. Ao escolher uma fonte de natureza literária, traçamos uma aproximação entre literatura e História, no entanto não confundimos as especificidades de cada área. O uso da literatura pela história passa pelo lugar de onde se enuncia o problema e as perguntas que se fazem devem estar ancoradas e justificadas no campo da história. Convém salientar que textos literários são documentos fundamentais para o estudo da Antiguidade. No âmbito do estudo sobre as mulheres, tal tema tem crescido significativamente nos últimos anos. Tais investigações alinham-se com os atuais debates historiográficos, os quais passaram a privilegiar também aspectos singulares e as ações sociais de indivíduos.

  Apuleius' narrative, more specifically his work "The Golden Ass", is a possible field for discussing and problematizing the expressions and representations of the feminine and its behaviors of and in the Roman society of the second century after Christ. In choosing a source of a literary nature, we draw an approximation between literature and history, however we do not confuse the specifics of each area. The use of literature by history goes where the problem is stated, and the questions asked must be grounded and justified in the field of history. It should be noted that literary texts are fundamental documents for the study of antiquity. In the study of women, this theme has grown significantly in recent years.

  Such investigations are in line with current historiographical debates, which have also privileged singular aspects and the social actions of individuals.
