In this study have been identified the environmental variables that could determine the distribution of living benthic foraminifera assemblages of infralitoral zone to the north of Valencia province. The environmental variables associated to the substrate that generate more influence in the assemblage distribution are the carbonate content, the organic matter content, the grain size and bathymetry. The presence of municipal sewage contributes to the increase of dissolved organic matter that it increases the abundance of shells and the specific diversity. The anoxia and pollution effects, corroborated by the morphology of the shells, are not observed.
