Aeolian deposits are known worldwide and were first investigated in Central Europe, North America and Russia. These deposits serve as well as archives of climate and environmental change. Loess is an aeolian dust deposit that consists fundamentally of silt. These dust deposits cover 10% of the world’s surface. Loess deposits play an important role concerning climate change deductions. The presence of aeolian deposits in central Spain was reported in the 1970s. A preliminary field work allowed the identification of areas in which open profiles or sections. Sedimentological and pedological analyses, including granulometry, mineralogy, pH, carbonate content, organic matter and pedogenic iron content were performed. Granulometric data allows characterization of different unit areas identified within each profile that can be correlated with each other and help the comprehensive interpretation, as well as other parameters
