Las Nuevas Tecnologías juegan un papel fundamental en el fenómeno religioso, y particularmente en sus tendencias radicales. Se hace necesario definir los términos proselitismo y adoctrinamiento, puesto que se confunden en relación a la libertad religiosa. El dinamismo y estructura con el que evolucionan las sectas destructivas, por el fenómeno de Internet, hace que hayan proliferado las mismas.
Una cuestión fundamental es la actitud que los padres pueden tomar ante la adscripción de sus hijos a lo que se conoce como sectas, porque si bien deben respetar lo que el menor en su libertad asume como creencias propias, sin embargo, es cosa bien distinta que aquél se vea sumido en una de estas realidades que abundan en nuestro tiempo y que captan adeptos por muy distintas vías, siendo los menores una de sus presas preferidas por su vulnerabilidad y falta de madurez. Otra cuestión del presente trabajo, es la negativa a determinadas intervenciones médicas por los menores, miembros de algunas sectas, incluso cuando se encuentran en peligro de muerte.

New Technologies play an important role in the religious phenomenon, and particularly in its radical tendencies. It is necessary to define the terms proselytizing and indoctrination, since they are confused with the concept of religious freedom. The increase of destructive sects as well as their dynamic evolution can be explained due to the internet. An essential point is the attitude that parents can take towards the attachment of their children to what is known as sects. Although they must respect what the minor freely assumes as his own beliefs, it is a very different thing than the minor is involved in one of these realities that are very common nowadays. The sects attract followers by very different ways but minors are their preferred prey due to their vulnerability and lack of maturity. Another subject of this work is the refusal of certain medical interventions by minors, that are members of some sects, even when they are in danger of death.
