Figures of movement are the hinges in "Mrs. Dalloway" between the different spatial and temporal modalities of utterance, thus signalling the fundamental mobility of discourses while demonstrating its nature as event grounded in contingency. At the same time, these figures connect to the characterisation of life as perpetual mobility, while discourse's task is to seize the artirculation where differences originate or merge.
