The link between literature and philosophy in German idealism works itself out through and in language and through a renewal of the understanding of language exemplified in Humboldfs "Einleitung zur Kawi-werk", where language is theorised as the means for and locus of the Kantian synthesis, while the temporal dimension of language dynamises the Kantian system.
