La mujer en las cofradías y romería de la Virgen de la Cabeza, siglos XVI al XVIII

    El papel que las mujeres han desempeñado en las cofradías de la Virgen de la Cabeza y en su romería, durante la Edad Moderna, ha pasado muy desapercibido o ignorado en los estudios que conocemos al respecto. Por tanto, vamos a profundizar en acercarlo a través de los estatutos de distintas hermandades y cofradías.

    Lo más llamativo es el uso de un lenguaje no sexista al denominar a la mujer cofrade como “cofrada”, así como a la hora de pagar la cuota de ingreso en la cofradía o recibir la ración de alimentos cuando esta asistía a la romería. Si olvidar los derechos que tenía cuando el marido cofrade fallecía o ella misma a la hora de poder heredarle o sus hijos.

    La presencia de la mujer en la romería era motivo de debate; ya que la consideraban culpable de ciertos desmanes que en ella se producían; de ahí que los ilustrados del siglo XVIII propusieran como solución el no permitirles asistir.

    The role that the women have redeemed in the brotherhoods of the Virgin of the Head and in its pilgrimage, during the Modern Age, has spent very unnoticed or ignored in the studies that we know on this matter.

    Therefore, we are going to enter in bringing it over across the articles of association of different fraternity and brotherhoods.

    The showiest thing there is the use of not sexist language on having named the woman a brother like "cofrada", as well as at the time of paying the revenue quota in the brotherhood or receiving the food ration when this one was present at the pilgrimage. If to forget rights that it had when the husband brother was dying or she at the time of being able to inherit him or its children.

    The presence of the woman in the pilgrimage was a debate motive; since they were considering her to be guilty of certain outrages that in her were taking place; hence illustrated of the XVIIIth century they were proposing like solution non-allowing them to help.
